Pat and Mike
Meet Pat and Mike!
Pat (17 years old) and Mike (19 years old) are Clydesdale geldings.
They came to us at the end of May 2025, it was meant to be a temporary stay-a safe place for them while their owner focused on healing. We fully expected these two sweet boys to head back home and be reunited with their family.
But sometimes life changes in ways none of us can predict. Their owner is doing okay, but new medical challenges have arisen within their immediate family, and after many heartfelt conversations, it became clear that returning home just isn’t possible anymore.

Special needs: Pat has an esophageal diverticulum that has been managed by feeding his SOAKED grain in a hanging feeder. Since his arrival at the rescue, we have had no issues with his diverticulum. We soak Mike’s grain as well, this allows them to share their meals - which is their preferred way of eating.
They are feathered horses who need their feathers/scratches cared for. This entails regular leg washing and treatment as needed.
Pat and Mike are AVAILABLE TOGETHER and are currently under evaluation. They were once a driving pair and have been ridden.
