Tulip

Welcome to the world, Tulip

Born on April 30, 2026 at 10:26 PM, Hope brought a beautiful, big Percheron filly into the world.

After all the waiting, watching, and wondering… she was finally here. Safe. Strong. Perfect.

Hope handled motherhood beautifully, and Tulip’s first moments were exactly what we hope for with every new foal: time with her mom, learning, resting, and beginning the incredible journey of discovering the world around her.

From the very beginning, Tulip showed us just how special she was. She was a strong, curious little filly, finding her way through those first wobbly steps and soaking in everything this new world had to offer.

Finding Her Feet

Her Story Begins

Tulip’s name came from a little piece of her that was there from the very beginning.

When Hope’s beautiful filly arrived, Doc Stacey noticed something special right away. The combination of Hope’s star and Jackson’s blaze came together in a marking that looked remarkably like a tulip. It was one of those little moments that made us smile, and suddenly, her name was obvious.

And so, Tulip was named.

The timing made her name feel even more special. Just days before Tulip was born, Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue received a generous donation of tulips from Wicked Tulips Flower Farm through their Tulips for Love and Hope program after the rescue was nominated by one of our friends, Sanna.

The program recognizes local people and nonprofits who bring hope and love to the communities they serve, making the arrival of a filly named Tulip a beautiful reminder of the kindness and support that surrounds CDHR.

Tulip is the daughter of Hope, a Percheron mare who has embraced motherhood beautifully, and Jackson, whose playful personality may have already found its way into another generation.

Tulip has been busy discovering the world around her and becoming more confident with each passing day. Those long Percheron legs that once needed a little practice are now carrying her on new adventures as she explores her surroundings and learns what it means to be part of the herd.

With Hope close by, Tulip is growing into a curious and confident young filly. Her personality is beginning to shine through, and she keeps us smiling as she learns, plays, and continues to grow.

Looking Ahead
