In Memory of Petunia
(2022-2023)

(2022=the year she was rescued by CDHR)

We have some heartbreaking news. This morning, our sweet Petunia lost her long battle with chronic laminitis. She had been struggling with pain, and despite the specialized care Doc Stacey and our incredible farrier, Joey Santos, have given her to make her more comfortable, today, upon examination, we grimly realized that there were no more options to provide her with the quality of life she so deserved.

Our last act of kindness was letting her pass over the rainbow bridge where she would no longer be in pain. So this morning, with the sun shining bright, we brought her to the field to let her graze to her heart's content and fed her all her favorite snacks before releasing her gentle spirit.

Although it's never enough time for us with them, this last chapter of Petunia's life was full of peace, love, and comfort, and all on her terms. She was loved beyond measure.
Run free sweet girl. #forevermissed
