Sarah is a 15.1hh, ~12 year old crossbred mare who arrived at the rescue in June 2025 as part of a group (the “Windham 8”) seized by Animal Control officers for neglect. She arrived with severely neglected hooves and teeth, and was also pregnant. She was the only one of the group not underweight, likely because she is an “easy keeper” and also an alpha mare who will never let another horse come between her and her hay. Sarah may also have an ovarian tumor which will require surgical removal after she foals. As the legal proceedings have not yet been finalized, Sarah is not available for adoption and would not be made available until she is healthy and her foal is weaned.
