With a mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming workhorses, CDHR has been rescuing draft horses from abusive situations, kill buyers, feedlots, starvation, slaughter auctions, or owners who can no longer care for them, since 2011. By allowing them to heal and rediscover their true nature, we provide every opportunity for them to experience the possibility of enjoying a second life with their forever home, or offer them a well-deserved retirement due to soundness issues, age, or owner hardships. Your sponsorship of one of our draft horses will help provide a happy life for the horse you choose. You can sponsor any of our horses in honor of a friend, in memory of a loved one, or even as a birthday or holiday gift for someone special. Business, club, and school sponsorship are also welcome!

Our Sponsor a Horse program is an automatic monthly donation program. It only takes a moment to sign up, and your debit or credit card will be automatically billed each month. You can cancel at any time. We encourage you to come to get to know your horse! Join us on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am - 12 pm and learn more about each horse, their story, and their own unique personalities. Sponsorship donations, like other donations, are completely tax-deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
